Dancing the night away

The next day, after partying until 5am. Whose idea was to go horseback riding?

Was it mine? I've never been at a farm before. I thought it would be different.

The weather doesn't look too good. Let's go anyway. We heard these horses can go smooth.

Looks like they can at least cross a river.

We ended the day soaking in the Blue Lagoon

It warmed us up after the cold Icelandic horse ride

It has a famous white mud

The next day we took the Golden Ring bus tour organized by Inga's parents

Cold and windy, but an amazing scenery

Very barren vegetation ...

... but plenty of steaming water underneath

The geothermal power plant at Nesjavellir

A tranquil place for a summer house

Pingvellir: site of the Alping, the first Icelandic parliament

Overlooking the lake

Where laws were made once a year starting in 930 AD

The cliffs provided shelter from the elements

The mountain river fits perfectly into the scenery

I love the freshness that abounds in the air

Crystal clear pool

Audrey and Hannes taking a closer look

The nearby Oxararfoss waterfall

Inga's father (with the umbrella) was a great tour guide

Many lucky people, judging from the number of coins

The majestic waterfall at Gullfoss

Getting close to the edge

It's very powerful

We all got wet

Inga's father showing us how to get close

As close as you can get

Waiting the eruption at Geysir

Here it comes

Viking figure

A stunning crater on the way back to Reykjavik

Dinner preparations at our apartment -- Eugene and Jeff tending to whale meat
